Becky Beavan, Nursery Manager – BA Early Years / Early Years Professional Status
I have been part of the setting since 2004, originally starting out as Nursery Nurse and working my way up to Nursery Manager. No two days are the same and I love the diverse experiences that my role provides me with.
Petals Day Nursery is a wonderful setting, offering a special combination of nurture and learning, all within a safe and secure environment, where there is a caring and homely feel for children to settle and grow.
I am proud to work with my dedicated staff team who genuinely care about each and every one of the children attending our setting, striving to ensure the best outcomes for our children through hard work and determination.
I am passionate about high quality teaching and learning with young children and having completed my Early Years degree with Early Years Professional Status, I use this knowledge to coach and mentor my team to develop them into the best early years practitioners that they can be. My priority as a Nursery Manager is to ensure that Petals Day Nursery continues to enable all children to succeed and reach their full potential in their academic, creative, personal, physical, moral and spiritual development.
We value outdoor play as an important part of children’s learning experiences. A separate baby area ensures our youngest children benefit from outdoor time on a daily basis. Children have daily, supervised access to the outdoor area. Our free-flow system to the outdoor area gives children free choice and independence. We don’t believe in bad weather at Petals Day Nursery, only poor clothing. As a result, we have a range of waterproof clothing and wellies to ensure that children still have the option to go outdoors in all weathers should they choose!
We have a separate Sensory Room that stimulates children’s senses as they delight in their exploration of colours, lights and sounds. This quiet and soothing space also provides an area for calm and relaxation when children need time to rest.
We offer a quality, specious environment for children aged 3 months to 5 years in an open plan layout. Continuous Provision areas are carefully arranged to allow children to move freely between learning areas and make choices about their play.
We have a highly qualified team, who are all trained in Advanced Safeguarding and Pediatric and Emergency First Aid, ensure children receive the highest standard of care. A number of our staff have been at the setting for 10 years or more.
